1. Diesel Engine Exhaust Removal—Training School

Application: Training school operated up to 6 diesel trucks and 3 individual diesel engines simultaneously inside a training room. High smoke loads required source ventilation of airborne contaminants. Direct connection of nozzles to tailpipes isolated operator breathing zones and allowed for engine operation for training purposes.

Filtration Equipment: Twelve Plymovent Hose Drops, 6” Diameter Size with Masterduct MC-HT850, 850 Degree Temperature Hose; One Plymovent TEV-768-60 15 hp BI Blower with Non-Sparking Wheel

2. Diesel Smoke Removal—Truck Repair

Application: Heavy truck repair facility required source capture smoke/fume removal from engine exhaust in repair bays. Ducting and hose drops were provided to each of twenty-eight work bays to allow operators to connect hose nozzles to truck exhaust while engine operates inside shop.

Filtration Equipment: Five separate source capture blower/ducting systems serve twenty-eight Monoxivent 5" diameter retractable hose drops with retractable balancer, nozzle, and high temperature hoses. Welding smoke fume extraction arm and blower for fabrication bay.

3. DOT Facility Vehicle Exhaust Removal System Upgrade

Application: DOT facility vehicle exhaust system removal system upgrade included use of Plymovent Retractable Hose Reels with pivoting boom arms used to provide increased hose reach over the entire shop area. Direct tailpipe connection isolated operator breathing zones and kept exhaust fumes from migrating throughout the shop area.

4. Military Base Repair Facility

Application: Military Base Motor Pool Repair Facility required upgrade to replace worn out and undersized vehicle exhaust removal system. Low temperature rated hoses failed and made system inoperable. New Plymovent retractable hose drop system utilized heavy dusty balancers and 350 degree Temp hose. Simplified system use with balancer supported hoses allowed operators to easily connect tailpipes resulting in operator protection.

Filtration Equipment: Thirty-One Plymovent Retractable Hose Drops; 4” Diameter and 5” Diameter Masterduct Carflex 350 Hose; Heavy Duty Balancer, 5” Diameter Nozzles

5. State DOT Vehicle Repair Facility

Application: State DOT vehicle repair facility operated variety of road maintenance vehicles. 10” diameter hose drops selected to handle up to 6” diameter tailpipes that generate elevated exhaust temperatures. Custom articulated boom arms allowed for complete shop coverage and tailpipe connections for different sized vehicles. Source capture tailpipe connections protect operator breathing zones.

Filtration Equipment: Six 10” diameter x 16’L Retractable Hose Drops with Heavy Duty Balancers and High Temperature Hose; Three Hartzell Model S03P0-152BC100 Roof Mounted Blowers, 3-hp each

Special Equipment: Six Custom Articulated Double Pivoting Boom Arms to support extended reach of 10” Diameter Hose and Nozzles
